Aimed at anyone with a love of France and its culture, le Cercle Français de Hereford holds monthly meetings at No 1 Castle Street running from September till May. The majority of meetings consist of a talk by a native French speaker or a lecturer from the Alliance Française approved list, followed by a question and answer session. Members have a chance to chat with each other beforehand over a glass of wine.

The subjects covered are many and varied and range from the comic to the serious in an effort to cater for all tastes. Proficiency in spoken French is not necessary, but the ability to understand the language is obviously important in order to to enjoy the talks.

The annual membership subscription is £20.00, which covers all nine meetings. Non-members are welcome to come along to any meeting at a cost of £4.00 and there is no charge for sixth-form students.
